My main research interest is to examine the ways of living with loss and death.

I have published widely in the areas of attitudes toward death, bereavement, suicide prevention and aging.

My current research interests are related to suicide stigma, grief after suicide, and advanced directives (Shukatsu) among Japanese elderlies.
